I'm planning on buying a GBB or NBB. What is the best one in terms of power (FPS) that I can get that is under a price tag of $180.

The KWC Desert Eagle has been consistently crono-ed at 350fps using .20 gram BBs. The gun can be had for as little as $134.99 at www.airsoftarms.com.

Actually, it can be had for as little as 120 on airsoft atlanta i do believe. (got mine for cheaper)
Single handedly, this GBB has changed my airsoft experience forever. Tanking down targets at 120 feet with dead on accuracy made me quite the happy guy.
I now have passed on this wonderful weapon to one of my best friends ;) time to pass on the "greatness" :p

Also, if you can find it for cheap enough, the KSC Eagle 5.5 is probably one of the most impressive (power-wise) handguns that I have had the opportunity to fire. It consistently chronos 380fps+ using .20gram BBs and HFC22. With the hop-up set correctly, this gun is a beast!!!
The only problem is finding it for cheap enough...

same can be said for the KSC eagle 6"

I was pretty impressed w/the KWC DE. my friend's gun chronoed consistently at 360fps!!! and it's on sale @airsoft atlanta for $99, darn thing is just too BIG for me (may just buy it anyway =)... it is a close 2nd to the KWA metal glock 18c :D, only $129 @ Airsoft Atlanta. all I can say is.... Glock SWEETNESS!!! both, very good bang for the buck!!!
1 thing I have noticed regarding GBB guns is dat the quality is only particular to the model. for example, the KWA Glock 18c may be nice but other KWA GBB guns may totally suck @ss!!! same thing w/the KWC DE, as many other KWC guns suxors!!! it's not like TM, where ALL their AEGs have very similar quality & reliability. gotta really research when it comes to GBB guns...

Are you sure the KWC Deagle GBB Goes like 300+? You using a real chronograph or just the "can" test. I mean I have a KWC Deagle myself ( two tone springer ) And It can only dent cans... Not even a hole in the can. It can't even break a cd on the first shot. I had to shoot the cd like 5 or 6 times to make it shatter.

the KWC was tested @Athens field in GA using a REAL chrono. All guns there are chronoed BEFORE games (those that chrono too high are restricted or banned fr games). his DE is a version 2 KWC gun, bought fr Airsoft Atlanta. also read the other posts above, they are also referencing the SAME gun, and at 350fps.
perhaps u r using the wrong gas?

Perhaps you should know that gas guns are more powerful than springers, eh?
Knights725

lol i knew that but i'm just pointing out that I have a KWC Ultra Grade Desert Eagle springer... And no matter what retailers say. The FPS they claim is never true in my opinion. They said my Deagle should go 270 fps..... i dont think so. So keep posting about the best GBB or NBB for the money

If you want power, look at a NBB.
The Ruger Mk2 (from Marushin or KJW) is supposed to be very powerful, if you want an automatic. The Marushin 8mm AMT Automag IS very powerful (don't know exact figures, but it could put an 8mm BB through both sides of a Coke Can on AE Winter gas - less powerful than green...)
The Tanaka S&W M29/629 revolvers are also very powerful.
Cheers.

heheh, I don't know much about gas guns, or electric ones(AEGs, not EBBs...) for that matter. But I did know when I read this thread it would mention the KWC Desert Eagle. I like the thing, fits perfect in my hand. If I could find another one cheap enough, I'd get it and have two. But I'm not up to spending another $120 to get a new one with one magazine right now. I got a great deal on mine for $120 with two magazines from Agent.
Just gotta say, it goes everywhere with me in the house, constantly getting aimed at random things, heheh. Sits on my computer desk with me, it is right now.
I have received the greatness, lol.

KJ Glock 27 FMV + Guarder Spring Set (I'll just call it that although WGC called it Recoil Spring set, it includes a hammer spring, 150% springs or so). $103.00 + $9.30 = $112.30 not including shipping. I'd say it's a good deal, quite a tight little bugger. Perhaps a high flow valve which cost anything from $12.00-$36.00.

winter gas = much more powerful gas- in order to be used in the cold, it has to be vastly more powerful than "regular" gasses, so when the cold causes them to constrict and lose PSI, the winter gas is still powerful enough to use in the cold. Gas guns do NOT rely on gasses for their chemical structure, they rely on air pressure. It's simply an issue of various chemicals have various PSI ratings at different temperatures.
cheap-
KJW m9 TE for 99
tough reliable, and a great entry level skirmish gun
KWA Glcok 19 Full Metal- 119 most retailers- also an excellent gun for newbies and pros alike.
careful with the KJW Mk 1 and 2- they may be too powerful for some fields.

I have heard (no personal experience due to research before purchasing) that HFC gas guns suck. If this is only a rumor, someone please correct me, but thats what I found while researching. I have a KJW M9 full metal, and it is definitely a great gun for the money. It is very durable, and shoots taiwanese green gas with no problem.

Excellent review, but I think one or two minor details may be wrong.
>> KSC/KWA Glock are nearly identical , except KWA do not have Trademarks which are found on the KSC. Current generation KWA Glocks 17,18C,19, and 26/26C (not sure about the 34) have an installed Metal Slide, barrel, guide rod, spring and an upgraded flow valve. I would strongly suggest the KWA as it has most of the upgrades that you would probably want without having to shell out an extra $90+ to do it.
Not all KSC Glocks have proper trademarks (I don't believe the 19 or 26 does). I also don't believe the KWA's come with metal slide as 'standard', but many retailers offer them as a package. Just check if that's what you want.
>> TM Glocks (17, 26) are said to be reliable, yet light.
I don't believe that TM makes a gas Glock 17.
>> KSC/KWA do not have many (if any) 1911s save for the S&W M945 and a Strayer Voight variant or two.
KSC make a number of STI (forerunners to SV - the S is the same in both) guns PLUS the single stacker M945 in black and silver. There are allegedly problems with the M945's slide with green gas.
>> TM produces several variations of the 1911 including the AMT Harballer, Strayer Voight, as well as a few Colt Replicas. I have not found much information on them.
I don't believe TM make any SV GBBs or NBBs.
>> KSC offers two versions of the Mk23, the Hardkick and the Heavyweight. These guns are extremely popular and, as such, somewhat difficult to obtain without any waiting.
KSC seemed to stop making the Mk23 for a while, but it's generally available again. The metal slide/barrel kit is pretty expensive.
>> TM offers a boxed set NBB, which is said to have excellent performance. As it is a NBB, though, you lose the slide function, but gain increased accuracy and reduced noise.
That's true and the gun is much cheaper than the KSC, but the KSC is a much better gun when you compare side by side.
>> TM Desert Eagles are said to feel light. However, the newer DE has not recieved many (if any) reviews, but is said to have a metal body.
There's a metal slide/frame available (at considerable cost), but the standard gun is nearly all ABS.
Cheers.

Might i suggest, Texx, that your post be saved, and added to a noobie section for airsoft? That was a very informative post. Thank you for your time, Im sure it has helped alot of people.

snowman- kwa Glock 19 sitting in my hands, has trades.

Cobalt,
Are there trades on the slide AND grip?
Do you have a metal slide? If so, I think the only trades will be on the slide (which the KWA plastic slide doesn't have, I believe, but don't 100% know) and NOT on the grip.
Let us know, as there's a lot of confusion over whether there are trades on the KWAs vs KSCs and which Glocks have and don't have trades.
Cheers.

boy is my face red-
the gun itself was not in my hands at the time- I just moved and I have boxes everywhere- and on the box, which is directly next to me on my computer desk full of papers, it has the trades for glock and where it was made- austria and smyrna GA.
however after I posted this, we went to go punch some holes in paper and sure enough, the KWA G19 has NO trades whatsoever. not one.
the box has trades not the gun, and I'm sorry for both speaking to fast, and using a "tone" that implied that I was 100% certain when I didn't have it in front of me, jus tthe box.
once again, Glaock 19 by KWA= no trades.
KWA box= trades
seriously, I don't usually speak out of my asss like that, and I'm sorry to contribute to the KWA KSC confusion.
