I currently have 9 mags I start off with in a skirmish, just wondering how many you guys use? Just to make sure I am not overloading....

Loo, I told you, if you can fit it on you, take em. Specially since all 8 of em are low caps!!

It depends on what kind of magazines you use. I have a P90. My load out is one standard capacity magazine (68 bb's) and two high capacity magazines (300 bb's each), for a total of 668 bb's. I have never used more than about 400 bb's in a game. As Tripod said though, if you are using standard capacity magazines, carry as many as you can. I just thought I'd let you know what I carry and how many bb's I usually go thru.

I forgot to mention that I also carry 2 magazine for my sidearm for a total 52 bb's

I'm tyign for the standard U.S. Army load 6 mags + 1 in the gun, , 210 rounds. Currently I carry 3 hicaps and 3 G&Ps, around 1290 bbs. So if you go by 10bbs = 1 real round, thats close to what is carried.

I just go with a system of same number of the both kind of mags. And it works for me, so im happy.

Mp5 = 3 standard, 3 highcaps 3 midcaps
for the ucpomming G3, since the highcaps are pretty big and i only have one G3 planned - 2 highcaps, 2 standards Possibly add one of each if I find I can fit more on me - or maybe just make them stadnards since a highcap holds like 500
Ak, same - 2:2 Again, possibly double ammount for standards then highcaps because of the fact that it holds600 freakin rounds
M1a1 same 4:4 most likely
and thats basically as far as im looking into the future for now.

A big factor is how many mags your *gear* can hold comfortably. I have a cheap-o tac vest that holds 8 - M16 mags (2 per pouch) but that is packing them in there pretty tight. And since I don't have a spent mag pouch, I put my spent mags back in my vest. Under fire, this needs to be a very easy process.

So, I carry 5 mags - one in the gun and one in each pouch. The breakdown is 2 Hi-caps, 2-68 round mags, and one G&P 130 round "medium-cap" mag = 866 rounds total.

1 standard 2 hi-caps for my M4.
2 pistol mags.
thats it no more- no less!
I try to make my shots count instead of counting my shots!!:D

It also depends on how long your matches and or what scenerio you are playing. I have one highcap and one lowcap for my aug, and im fine, ammo wise. I just reload my mags between rounds, after a team has won. I would prolly buy more hicaps, but im cheap :)

i am pretty much the same, i carry 1 highcap and 1 standard mag, and it works fine, i carry a small load (mab 600) bb's in a bag in one of my pouches as a backup

Wow,
You guys carry a lot of ammo. Either that or I hardly carry any  I carry 3 G&P 130 rd. mags and a TM standard (came with the gun). I hope I never meet any of you in a long firefight. But I live in the middle of nowhere, so that is unlikely :D

when I start skirmishing, I'm only gonna use standard mags.... But right now I have 2 P90 68 round mags, and I can out last anyone here!!! MUAHAHAHA *cough* *gasp* HAHAHAHAHA

Kinda off topic, but does anyone know a good vest that can fit alot of P90 mags and M16 mags? I'm planning on getting an M16 eventually, I mean come on, everyone has one.......

Fuzz -

900 or so rounds is not really that many, especially if you consider Wretched's conversion of 10 airsoft BBs approx. 1 "real" round (due to the inherent poor range and accuracy of an AEG.)

Tripod -

Here is the inexpensive tac vest I use (works just fine for me & my M16 mags.

Sorry to let you know, but I do not think there is a vest that will hold P90 magazine and M16 magazines. I could not even find a vest for my P90 magazine. There are some custom P90 vests out there, but they are not very common and pretty expensive. If you are thinking of getting an M16, I would recommend getting an M16 vest and then P90 thigh mag pouches. The P90 thigh pouches are pretty much the only "off-the-shelf" solution I have seen for carrying P90 magazines.

thanx, I was thinking of getting the thigh pouch, and some of the real steel holders that go on a belt.....

I think there are a few different kinds of thigh rigs for P90 mags. Guarder makes a few different ones. You can also get a Blackhawk one from Airsoft Atlanta (here (http://www.airsoftatlanta.com/images/BHp90mag_jpg.jpg) ).

Tripod:

Check out my review of the P90. I know you don't need info on the P90 itself, but I also covered slings, magazine pouches, and other accessories too. Here's the link:

BTW, I put up a bunch of pictures of custom P90's in the album section of that website too.

I carry 3 std mags and 1 hicap for my thompson. But i only use my hicap when i have to. i like to conserve my ammo for more realism.

10 standards, 9 TM, 1 G&P, 1 TM hi cap. When i play 2 hr scenario games with 100 ppl. all my mags last me bout 1 hour. Then i switch to my hi cap for backup and if i run outta ammo, i can reload my hi cap on the field since i dont need no loaddin tool. But you can also buy a auto bb loader and bring it out on the field. Also carry 3 M9 mags and put 15 rounds in them.

Well lets see.

With my RPK, I carry:
x3 600 round high caps for... 1800
x1 250 roung mini mag for.. 250
x2 72 round Std. Mags for... 144

That comes to a total of roughly: 2194 theoretically.

And yes, I have used all my BB's in a single game. Remember, my RPK is a Support weapon upgraded to 400 FPS with a 469mm inner barrel with a 9.6v 3000 Mah Battery.

I'm probably going to replace the two standard mags with more high caps. I'll probably end up with 6 or 7 high caps for the gun which would just be insane, but very welcomed.

For my M40a1 Std Model, I used 3 Standard Magazines totaling 75 rounds.

For my up coming AKS-74U I'll carry 4 mid caps or low caps. It's a carbine, I use it for CQB, I don't need much ammo... So I think.

After that... I'm devided. I kinda want another support weapon... (M60 DX) or build a third AK series. Either an SVD or an AK-74 Assult rifle.

So who knows.

In the past I've had multiple guns...

With my ex. M733 I carried 5 std mags and 1 high cap just incase.

My ex. G36c I carried a Std mag and a high cap.

I also had an AKS-47 but that shared the same mags as the RPK. But I normally didnt carry all of them because it gets extremely heavy.

I've also am getting an mp5a4 that... I will never use because it's being sold to a friend of mine that has 2 high caps.

And an M4 I'm getting as well has... 3? Std mags, and 1 high cap.

So it all varries what you do truthfully. With my RPK, I just don't let the trigger off intill I run out of ammo. Then I switch mags. With a carbine, you shoot and scoot. Because if you engage some one like me with my RPK, Not only won't you have enough ammo to try to pin me down, you will have a lack of range/accurcy on me as well, and probably the same, if not lower Rate of fire.

Where with my AKS-74U, I wouldn't stand a chance against a support weapon, or a full lenght assult rifle (I.e. G3a3, M16a2, AK-47, ect..) due to lack of ammo, short barrel, and probably not going to be upgraded past 330 FPS for CQB things.

Where, in turn a sniple rifle, like Titlist's APS/L96 hybrid, he will only need 10 rounds or so to pick an entire team of people off. So, carrying a bolt action sniper rifle (unless you can't aim) carrying 75 rounds is alot.

And yes, Agent supposively with in 2 months the AK mid caps will be on the market. I'm planning to use them for the AK-74 mags, but I'm debating because the mid caps have a decent chance of mis-feeding due to there double stacking, if you don't keep them in good care.

I also have the matching vest. For my RPK I have a Black Hawk Omega Assult vest, that holds 6 mags. For the AKS-74U I have (I hope it will fit AK-74 mags... don't see why it wouldn't) a true russian EOD type assult vest that holds 3 mags, 4 gernade pouches (Going to be smoke), and 2 large pockets for gear.

You also have to include how much you want with your pistol. I have a KSC Mk.23, the mag holds 28 ish rounds. I only have one mag right now, So 28 rounds for that. But, I will be getting a second when ever I decide to order one.

But, it's all your choice.

Cheers
Fox

I carry a really small loadout by comparison with most of you all. I only have 4 68-rounders for my AUG plus 2 15-rounders for my Mark IV Series 70, and 2 30-rpunders for the SVI 6''.. I think thats 362 total... Like some other guys, I just loadout between rounds and sually fire single shot, although that kind fo defeats the high-speed FTK I just bought for the AUG...

AK
*1 AK Hi-cap (600)
*1 AK Hi-cap (250)
*2 AK Standards (70).
I find that I rarely ever have to even remove the 600 rounder. And if I do, that's a red-light that I'm firing way too much ammo.

M11
*1 M11 Standard (50)
It's more of a primary than a side-arm, but if I'm using it, I'm either a medic (in which case I'm too busy running my *** off to be returning alot of fire) or I'm just sweeping out a building/entering a brief CQB situation.

MP5
*1 MP5 Hi-cap (200)
*1 MP5 Standard (50)
New gun... s'all I got at the moment. Maybe one more hi-cap, then I'll start diving into the mid-caps.

M3
*11 Shotshells (30)
Total over-kill. That ammounts to something like 110 shots or something like that. I don't even bother with the gun anymore.

I just have a standard mag and a highcap, and i put in my highcap first. i never get to my standard mag. It might be because my highcap can hold 500(MC-51) but i dont even go lower than halfway most rounds.
You guys must spray into the night or something, or just have long scenarios.

I, of course, use the AUG of Death! :D I wear a simple "utility belt" {I'M....BATMAN ;)} with (4) M16 mag pouches. Being that I DESPISE hi-caps (as it takes away from the realism of Airsoft) I can hold (2) standards in each pouch and 1 in the gun bringing my total to 9 standard mags on the field.

For my MP5 that I just built from scrap parts, I have (2) Standard mags, (2) G&P 100rd mags, and a hi-cap that I am returning that doesnt work well and getting (2) more G&P mags. This is a "loaner" weapon to those who want to play but dont have a gun so I dont invest much in it mag wise.;)

I am waiting for the Systema M4 to come out and will probably purchase one of those (even though it will be around $600 - $800) and will have around 10 standard mags to go with it.

lol i think this christmas i'm going to invest in some extra mags/clips...

as of now i carry 3 standards for my m4 or m16 and one clip in my glock or elite, depending on which i carry.... so therefore, i never carry more than 250 rounds out into the field. I've never run out yet in all my games, but there are games when i've come down to the last dozen or so shots

i usually carry a loading tool/bottle of bb's out with me to the field and leave them at the respawn area or somewhere safe where i can load my mags if i need to. i know this isnt efficient, but its what i've gotta do until i get me some more mags :p

to clarify an earlier post, the aug has an 80 round standard mag, which is the largest capacity of any standard mag. BTW I have two hicaps and a standard for my aug and one hicap and one standard for my ak. Plus one spare M92F magazine to go along with the one in the pistol.

I carry four standards for my M4 right now. I was considering getting a mid cap, but I don't know. I think it helps that I am on a Scout/Sniper team, so I don't need huge amounts of ammo to pour on an enemy. Generally, any situation where that much ammo would be used, I wouldn't be around long enough to see.

I never been to a game yet lol, all this time but i have a TM mp5 sd5 with one standard mag, and one high cap mag. I suggest that it might be better if you all bought high cap mags rather than standard Because you could just load the standard amount in the high cap and if you need a high cap for a game you could just fill it up.Unless you dont like High cap mags which i Really dont know much about and there might be a reason why people prefer the standard ones.

Thats just my two cents!!
:D

and i know high caps cost more also.

Actually beast a lot of people go with the newer G & P mags which are made for the M16 series, Mp5, and I believe they are coming out with an AK middy. They are a happy median between standards and those hi-caps in that they hold ~twice as much as a standard but there is no need for the winding mechanism. Truthfully, whatever floats your boat in my mind. Go for the highs or lows if you like, I'll settle for the middle ground.

i carry a hi cap and 2 G&P mags for my MP5. I've got my 2 g and p mags fused together so that way when i've spent one, i flip the mag over and pop in my other one. Much better than having a double mag clip....i just dont trust those thigns...running and stuff, i'm afraid one would fall out. As for reloading the 2 g & p mags....i've got a great system.....i've got a copper tube and put little rubber grommets on the end. It holds exactly 100 bbs and i have an accompanying metal rod the same length of the tube. when i'm ready to reload...i put my tube over the bb hole and push the rod all the way down... all 100 bbs go in in less than 10 seconds. as for the little grommets, i carry like 5 tubes and they prevent the bbs from falling out as i run. so i can reload behind a tree or w/e i can use to hide for 10 seconds.
