Hey,
I have already checked DumboRat's FAQ and I can't find this in there. I purchased a charger from Plyconsarmory.com (good service) and it didn't say how long I need to charge my battery. I have an 8.4v 1700mAh battery. My charger is the third item down and it says "Wall Charger for Large Batteries". http://plyconsarmory.com/acc/charger.htm
It says to charge for 5-6 hours but I couldn't figure out how much to charge it for. The charger says:

AC ADAPTOR
CLASS 2 TRANSFORMER
MODEL: MW41-0900500
INPUT: 120V AC 60Hz
OUTPUT: 9V DC 500mA

How long should I charge my battery for and how long should I charge it for a 8.4v 1300mAh battery because I plan on buying one of those too. THANX

About 3 1/2 hours for the 1700 mah

about 2 3/4's for the 1300 mah battery.

Its a 500 mA/H charger.

To expand a little on what Fox said,
Assuming your battery is discharged, 1700mAh/500mAh = 3.4 h (mA’s cancel) However, as the pack heats up it actually slows the charging process so it may take a little longer to charge the battery completely. Personally, I would not leave it on for anything beyond 3.5 hours. With a stock gun and a 1700 mAh battery you should be able to make that battery last you almost 2 weeks on a slow charge like that. At least I had no problem with my 1700 one… That pack lasted me forever!

Here's how to find charging time:

1. Find output in mAh
2. Divide battery mAh by output mAh
3. Add one hour

For example a 300 mAh charger would charge a 600 mAh battery in 3 hours. Hope that helps.

Kings... i sure hope you ment 2 hours...

Last time i checked.... 6/3 = 2. Unless some magical thing happened and im retarded...

Any ways.

Isn't there an asterisk somewhere in the calculation that says if the battery itself gets *hot* then unplug it?

Yeah, that's alwas a good idea too... If it gets too hot, it will vent then you have acid and chemicals everywhere, or less and damage the pack.

Foxtrot-

3. Add one hour

600/300=2 plus one hour=3

This is what I use at least. It works with 95% of batteries that I use. For others I just check the battery heat.

Um.... your over charging it by about an hour...

Seriously, you would only need to charge it for 2 hours with that charger.

But i would recomend some type of decent charger.

Like an intellicharger.... or some type of FAST charger...

I know my charger takes 15 minutes to charge a mini battery, about 45 minutes for a 1300 mah battery...

God i left my 9.6v 3000 mah RPK battery on for about 3 hours... and it didnt even get warm... x.x
