View Full Version : An Observation.

Obviously this is just an observation that I have made, with myself and others.

It seems like some people on this site (myself included at some points, sadly.) try to perform the duties of a moderator and they end up with more posts that ridicule others compared to productive posting.

I have this flaw at some points, and I try to catch myself.

But it seems like everyone has completely forgotten the chain of respect that makes the moderators of this site. The mods can't help out a new member who has violated the rules, before the whole forum rapes their post ten times over.

Just a trend I've been noticing. Please remember, that I am not picking on a person or several people. Its a forum-wide trend.

(if this is an unwanted "opinion post" than i apologize)

We've been discussing this on and off for quite a while. You aren't the only one that sees it, trust me.

Well, lets not jump to any rash conclusions now. :)

I don't think it should just be the moderators' jobs to keep things in order around the forums. yes there is a point at which you should leave it to the mod's, but for small things like keeping a thread on topic or keeping things clean (confronting people who have said offensive things, and other stuff of that nature); I do however, think that if you are going to do these things as a non-moderator, you should both tell the person about their mistakes, and correct them, both in a respectful manner, instead of saying "OMFG ARE YOU RETARDED?" say something like "that is an incorrect statement, the correct thing would be....." or something of that nature.
