I don't know how many of you are familiar with The Q Project (www.theqproject.com), but I have been in contact with them, and an idea for a future event has come up.

The Q Project regularly hosts classes on Airsoft gun upgrading, repair and trouble shooting in two classes titled Airsoft 101 and Airsoft 102. Here is the basic info on the course:

Q's top technicians teach a full day informative hands-on study of version 2 and 3 gearbox systems covering the basics of the mechanical function of the electrical, gear (transfer), to pneumatic system by Tokyo Marui!

You will be expected to bring an appropriate battery and a NEW non-upgraded ver.2 or 3 AEG or choose to purchase one from us to use as your platform of study which you will also upgrade by bringing the tools required:

- Accurate Screwdriver set - small to medium flat and philips heads
- Metric small torx bits - sizes T-8 and up; preferably magnetic
- Metric Allen wrench set - sizes 1 and up
- Disposable non-fibrous cloth for clean-up work
- Pencil and Sharpie marker
- Razor blade
- A few small Zip-lock (TM) bags

Q and it's affiliate sponsors will provide at no additional cost all the necessary chemicals and parts for a basic upgrade. You'll also take home your own:

- Q technician's gearbox pad
- M100 or M120 spring
- Metal Bushings
- Steel Shims
- Airsoft gearbox technical guide / pamphlet written and illustrated by our CEO (copyright TQP 2003)

If we were to follow through with this, we would need a minimum of 10 people, at a maximum of appx. $280. The more people that come to the course, the less the cost.

I don't have a date even close to mind yet since I would like to know how many are interested, and a location is also TBD. If Columbus is a midway location to everyone, I would be willing to host it there, but I am located in Dayton, so I would require help in finding facilities elsewhere.

I have interfaced with the TQP staff personally, and I can guarentee that they are very professional, friendly, and most of all well rehearsed in the subject of airsofting.

If you all would like to see a review of one of their previous airsofting classes, click here (http://theqproject.com/store/review-tech101-102.asp).

Tyger out.

I'm extremely interested in this. I would definitely go, but if it's anywhere near $200, I probably would not be able to make it. Knowing your way around an AEG is priceless information to have...but......there's a price!

I will surely go if it's affordable. :D

Yes, I myself am a little leary of the cost, but I think that the more people who attend, the less the cost. I have an e-mail enroute to my contact on the subject, so we will see. :)

Why not just contact one of the Ohio stores and see if they'll give a class for some moderate price ($25ish). The students would get a good class for a reasonable price and the store gets tons of people who are new to the sport and looking to buy parts.

I'm very skeptical of this. It seems pointless to spend a lot of money to go to a class such as this, even though the teachers are well-informed. With all the online guides and knowledgable people around, there just isn't any reason I can see myself attending for.

The only sensible way I can see anyone going to this is if you have just purchased (and not used) or planning to purchase your gun, and don't know anything about it. Or, perhaps, if there are so many people going that the cost is next to nothing. :D

I am interested in this event but, like red said price is an issue. Also will there be an age limit?

If an AEG was included in the price of the class i would consider it. But that isn't going to happen. And with the information at our fingertips already what is the need. Im serious if you just do some time to search on how to upgrade you Airsoft gun then you wouldn't need the class. Ad if you has questions you could post them here or do some more searching. I can almost guarantee you that even if it is your first time upgrading that you will not come across a problem that someone else hasn't already had and posted it some where online. But that is my thoughts.
