This building environment, is this like CQB style?

Seems my post didn't come up. I'll definitely be there if I can make it. An indoor setting would be great to play at. Hope all goes well setting up the event, Blade!

thank you blade, been waiting for another one. I just hope we get to play in the little "village" where the kreiger HQ was. man I'm excited now.

TO vtb: the CQB is just a mixture of ply wood bunkers and little "rooms and small buildings" made of plywood spaced not to far apart yet not too close. It may not actually be a village or town for urban combat, but its a lot more cqb than just playing in the woods. Its a good change up from taking cover in brush to have the option to duck behind wood and play a bit more "speedball" like, if you catch my drift.

strikers_blade
08-22-2006, 04:37 PM
Motis,

Great answer to Vtb110. We will definitely play a lot in the buildings (old and new) and it should make things very interesting again. Although this time, mission will last longer and be a bit more complicated.

p.s. The more players come and the closer we are from our next project completion...which can't be announce yet :D

Oh man, now I'm seriously stoked about this event! I cannot say I've heard one bad thing about an event hosted by the Strikers, so I'll try my hardest to get out there.

Motis
08-22-2006, 05:54 PM
yea red, I have yet to not have fun at springfield, like blade said the more people come the closer they are to their next project. of course I know nothing about it, but its always a nice suprise. kinda like a little gift.

question: Blade do you have any propane adaptors to sell?

a few of the 97th will more than likely make it out. if you need a shadow squad we can do it.

strikers_blade

Motis,

I should have my propane adaptor in time for the event.

All, if you want to show up, you better register on www.airsoftevents.com a.s.a.p.

I will definitly try to be there. If I do it will be just me of my guys, their to young. The last one was pretty fun. I'm gonna try and upgrade my sniper, but don't worry it will be below 400 FPS.

Alright. Sounds good. I'll register right now then.

EDIT - Well, shucks. Payment process. Nothing comes up on that page. I cannot Pay with Paypal, either, I don't think, if that's how you should pay. Is there any other way to pay for the Event?

Haven't been around this site in a while! My friend are I are going to try and make it. Is the field a mixture of CQB/woods? I need to know if I should bring my SWAT uniform or my BDU's. :p

-Cody

Motis
08-26-2006, 06:52 PM
Id definatly suggest bringing BDU's, think of the field as all woodland, but the CQB is just a small little clearing in the woods where some very small plywood "buildings" and bunkers are set up. The buildings just resemble single rooms made of ply wood set up. Its really not like a little village, but it offers closer fighting than the woods surrounding it. And truly your still in the woods even when your playing in it.

I donno thats my attempt at describing it

insane
08-26-2006, 07:02 PM
Well, that describtion is good enough for me. I would love to bring my 5.11 tactical pants/shirt and my boots, but I have to wear them to school everyday, so I can't get them dirty at all. Looks like I'll just wear some old tan boots and my camo BDU's. :D

BTW: I'm going to register, and I know it's pay when you get there...but since I'm 17 do I still need to get a waiver signed?

-Cody

Hey, guys.

I love this field, I've really enjoyed playing with all of you, and I -- and maybe even a few others from Pittsburgh -- would be interested in checking out this game.

Will camping out be an option for us on Friday? I know Bud's pretty casual about it as long as he gets paid, but I'm really trying to keep my budget tight and a hotel room isn't in it.

Let me know ASAP. :) Appreciate it.

Tanker671
08-27-2006, 11:08 AM
if you have allready been to a strikers airsoft event this year and had a signed waiver you do not need to.

strikers_blade
08-27-2006, 01:43 PM
Valkyrie,

Camping is always available. each night are 5$, which need to be paid to me or Hardlock (event organizers).

Insane, as said, if you already have your 2006 Striker waiver, you are good to go.

Everybody else; Most of you know the place already. It is a wooden and hilly field, which offer every possible type of missions. From wide open (corn field) to the worse condition (80 degree hill). We also included several small structures (roughly 15-18 8x8 ) and the surprise (planned for next year) should include either bigger buildings or more structures.

Our deadline for the 2nd field improvement is set for Blind Fury 4. If you are lucky enough, we might see the progress throughout the coming events ;)

Blade, I'll send you a PM, because I need to get this not being able to access situation fixed...

Thanks,

I have the same problem as you, Red.

But, here's the link to the waiver.

Thank you, Gruntman, very much. :D

I'll print it and fill it out right now.

EDIT -

It won't fit on one page, and the computer seems to think it will...It's only printing one page. Can I move text down onto a 2nd page? I won't be editing it in any way, just moving the text down so the waiver will print correctly.

Motis
08-27-2006, 06:56 PM
I just made the text smaller and took out the margins, really I think you only need to take out he margins, but Im not sure

insane

I'm not sure if I'll be able to go. :( Getting the waiver notorized will be a problem.

I still hope to see you guys out there. I haven't played airsoft in almost a year. Actually I haven't even shot my guns in almost a year....

-Cody

Tanker671
08-27-2006, 10:30 PM
Insane you should probably clean and lube your gun first, as for getting it notorized just take it to a bank and have it notorized by the teller.

Valkyrie
08-27-2006, 10:37 PM
Just a teller won't be able to notarize your waiver, but there should be someone in the bank who can. Alternatively, you can find a public notary at most pharmacies.

I'm not sure yet if I'll be attending. I'd be something of a lone gun that weekend, and while I love the field an' the people, the event seems to be geared more towards teams.

Hrm.

strikers_blade
08-27-2006, 11:15 PM
Valkyrie,

While I like to emphasize on teams, I also have to say that lone guns have plenty of work to do too. In fact, the teams are nice because it is X number of players being used to work together so if I have a specific mission where team work is important, I can use that team to do a specifc part of it and everybody else do the rest.

I think you can ask everybody who attended, solo players can have as much fun than any other teams out there.

TheBanker
08-27-2006, 11:22 PM
I don't think anyone else from Black Eagle will be there, so I'll be flying solo. I'd like to run with a team, if anyone will have me. Otherwise I'll just do what I can. I'm not worried about it either way.

Red
08-27-2006, 11:45 PM
TheBanker, I'm sure the Wildcards would gladly accept you onto our team for this event, that is if most of our team shows up. I'll ask my CO if it's alright, if you would like to work with us.

I'm still not even sure if more than two Wildcards will show up, so my CO and I might be going by ourselves.

TheBanker
08-28-2006, 06:28 AM
That would be great Red, thanks.

strikers_blade
08-28-2006, 12:36 PM
Folks, many guys have been asking around what kind of team format we would use for the event.

As of right now, we plan to do a force on force system which means, we will divide the players into to group of same size.

Tanker671
08-28-2006, 12:44 PM
Blade will we be playing in the front near the parking lot or on the east side or the west or the whole thing?

strikers_blade
08-28-2006, 01:22 PM
It all depends on how many show up. When we are less than 30, we usually play West field. If 30-100, we play East and if more than 100, we might play both sides ;)

You see, the West is almost virgin as we did have a fence cutting bith field in the past (before last July). Now that the fence is gone, we will be able to combine both field and offer more recon missions. furthermore, we already started building the training camp in the middle, with another 10-15 buildings to be added later this year and next year.

Ominide

Is there a registration cut off date?

Tanker671
08-28-2006, 09:45 PM
Knowing strikers events and events held at that field you can probably register the mourning before you leave.

strikers_blade
08-28-2006, 09:53 PM
Not all strikers events are that easy going. In fact, everytime there is player sensitive event, we will reinforce early registration and with the coming months, it will get even stricter. The fact is, everytime a player says he will be there and doesn't show up or vice versa, the whole event dynamic can change.

When we plan for 50 players and only 20 shows up or 200 show up, it can turn your event intoa disastrous mess.

So if you guys could register A.S.A.P. and respect your commitment, that would be awesome.

All this being said, we will soon start penalizing those who keep registering but not showing up. this sport is all about trust afterall and if we can't trust the player, some extra money could be a good way to compensate :p

Tanker671
08-28-2006, 10:01 PM
I hope that not too many people do that but I know I will go but The Ace of Hearts and The Ace of Diamonds might not be able but I hope its a large number so I can have the chance to take more poeple out and find out your surprise.

strikers_blade
08-29-2006, 01:23 PM
September 2nd is good. I can obviously work with late registration but if 75% of the players decide to back out or register during the last 2 days, it is where it becomes an issue.

It doesn't look as though I'll be able to make it to the event. Some unexpected costs have arisen, and I need to watch my budget closely. Much as I'd love to visit all of you in Ohio again, with gas prices as they are, I think I'll skip out this time. :(

yeah head on down here and fill up the events only like 15 dollars so its pretty cheap all in all it would probably depending on your car would cost like 30 to 45 dollars so its pretty cheap

Red
08-31-2006, 01:22 PM
$30-45 in gas plus the event money, plus any other expenses, she'd probably get close to $100, maybe.

If I can get any extra money, I'd gladly give you a couple dollars if that'd let you come over for a day of airsoft.

strikers_blade
08-31-2006, 01:30 PM
I have to admit, driving on your own from PA will cost you about 25$ in gas, plus the field fee and food, an event in OH is about 50-75$ BUT I do have an easy solution for you: Find friends to bring along!!! :D

Seriously though, It's all good Valkyrie if you can't show up, there will be more events before the end of the year anyway.

Valkyrie
09-01-2006, 02:39 AM
Right now, $50 - $75 is a lot for me to drop on a day of airsoft. Yeah, the field is great, you guys are fantastic and all...and I REALLY, REALLY appreciate the offer to throw a couple of bucks my way...but with Bulldog looming, I've got to conserve where I can.

I've gone ahead and made other plans for the weekend, now, anyway. :(

Love ya guys. I'll be out again soon.

I might not make it to the event if I don't get my goggle situation figured out. I just bought a new pair, and they're about the worst pair I've had yet. $80 down the drain. If I don't find another pair, or figure out a way to get them to not fog (...Anti fog solutions work?), I may not make it. :(

Do we need to get the waiver notarized?

My father is a lawyer, and I'm pretty sure he can do it. Is that allowed to have a family member notarize it?

Cool, looks like me and a friend of mine might be going. And Red, defog solutions work. Trust me. I use them all the time when I dive. If you stop by any Scuba Diving shop, they will have it, usually at a very low price (at the shop I work at, it is $6.95 for a bottle of it.)

Well, I'd rather be safe than sorry. If I got there, and it wasn't allowed...I'd be screwed.

I had not noticed you offered before. Thank you, TheBanker! :D

If I cannot get to this scuba shop, I will probably need to take you up on your offer.

There are four 91st members coming to the event so far, and I'm pretty sure we'll be the only one's coming from the 91st; King (The CO of the 91st), Spades, Blackjack, and I.

TheBanker, if you would still like to tag along with us, we'd be more than happy to work with you.

Guys,

Only 3 days before the event so if you were registered and can't come anymore, please email me at sales@combatdepot.com so we can clean the roster.

Same goes for those who want to come, make sure you are registered on the roster.

Roster is over 50! Wow this grew from the last time I checked.

Looks like its going to rock.

I should have a refined helmet cam setup that will actually point where I'm looking better with less fidgeting, so everyone be sure to don your sexiest BDUs for the video camera.

I'll get our CO to dress up in an awesome Pink BDU dress. :D

Alright, King. I'll be on my face giving 20 before you even have to tell me.

50 people......Will that mean we will be using both the east and west parts?

Motis

do you realize how big that is?

Hey All.

I remember going to operation cold toes with a friend to check out the area. It has taken us awhile to return.

I had hoped to bring our entire team of 20 members to op 104 however we were not able to get enough vehicles.

Good news is that we will still be coming so add another 7 people to the total. I’ll be adding us to the roster sometime soon; I look forward to playing with all of you again.

Lol, East AND West field is about 250 acres and almost a mile long. 50 guys could play all day and never see each other! :D I'm sure Blade already has a plan. ;)

Allright im a tad confused. Will this event be split up by camo? Or will it be a team A and B type skirmish? Airsoft events says team A and B, but ive heard other things, and nothing was said about armbands or distinguishing teams.

Ok guys, since we crossed the 50 players mark, I am actually on few elaborate missions instead of the usual and casual missions but the most important thing is to set up the teams, which is why I asked earlier that you register a.s.a.p. or simply email me and tell me to remove your name if needs be.

Unfortunately, only three 91st members will mostly like come to the event.

I doubt I'll be able to go now, but I'll try.

If I don't make it, I hope you all have a great time. Good luck, guys, stay safe.

Blade, I e-mailed you about my not being able to make it, but I'm not sure if I will or not. I would hope to know, but it's an uncertain thing, and I can't (Nor can anyone else) control the situation I'm currently in. I would hope to make it, but again, it's probably more likely that I won't make it.

Gentlemen,

Here is the roster for the event so far;
http://airsoftevents.com/events/roster.php?event_num=65

Any of you would like to change their woodland for something else? or perhaps, some of you did not register yet?

it is 31 vs 24 so numbers are still good if nothing changes....

if you need or want a shadow squad the 97th can fill that role. we have quite a few men coming and will be more than willing to shoot up the rest of the guys attending.

I left the uniform decision to Lone Gunman, or his clone. Thats why we're in woodies. That and our 'guest' only has woodies.

I'll pack something else just in case ;).

Whoo! Tomorrow...but guess what? I started to get sick on Wensday...It's gotten worse, but not too bad. Hopefully it will not worsen by tomorrow....just thought I'd let you guys know in advance. So if I have to sit out a game or two or something, it'll be because of this.

And on a side note* Anyone from Cinci going up and want to go up together? Maybe get a couple of people and all drive up in a caravan?

Hey blade if you still need to even the teams you could put the woodland marpat on B. I understand its a green based camo, but as you know we did it in blind fury... even tho it wasnt perfect, its still fine with me.

Motis, don't worry, it was already one of my plan B to just be woodland versus everybody else but I always repfer to explore all my option before going for one in particular ;)

I'm in Blue Ash, about 15min from Milford Parkway. Anyway, I'm not driving up as I planned, so that caravan plan is a no-go. I wanted to drive, but if for any reason I got pulled over and they found the guns I would be screwed since I'm not 18.:o Better safe than sorry...especially when my Law Enforcement career is on the line!
