I could pretty much not find any info on this gun at all, a search here, Airsoft Players, Airsoft Retreat, and Classic Airsoft did not return much actual info on the. Pretty much any info that anyone has would be greatly appreciated. How does it perform, is is durable, can it take green/top gas, what features it has. I did find out that it is a gas/electric hybrid? What exactly does that mean? Like I said any info whatsoever would be appreciated seeing as there is not much info out there on it at all.
Thanks!

Zip,
Really sorry I didn't see this sooner!!! I OWN an MGC MP5KA4...not PDW...but very nearly the same. Only a couple minor differences. Obviously part of that being the flashhider and stock. But internally they are a tad different as well. BUT what all do you want to know? You want pics?
Yes it's a gas/electric hybrid...pretty cool thing actually. It stores gas in the mag like any modern GBB, but uses AA batteries to drive a mechbox which actuates the hammer which in turn hits the valve on the mag as well as cycles the inner barrel assembly and loading breech. In the PDW I hear that the inner barrel is stationary while the breech moves to it...but the K (that I have) actually moves the barrel and breech at the same time (thus being the major internal difference).
Also the MGC MP5KA4 is a TRUE MP5KA4 unlike the TM or Maruzen versions.....what does that mean you ask? That means it has 3rnd burst. Which is controlled by a small IC located in the pistol grip, which also houses the small button cell battery that provides the IC it's juice. So instead of the selector being mechanical it's directly linked to the IC which in turn controls the cycling of the mechbox. So it has single, 3rnd burst, and auto. The mechbox does nothing but cycle a hammer and move the loading breech/barrel.
As for taking green gas....not a problem at all. The only downside to these replicas is the lack of hopup really. I recently went on a hunt for an SCS barrel for my 5K which turned up only an SCS barrel for the PDW...which will NOT fit the 5K. So if you find yourself with a PDW I can direct you to getting the SCS barrel assembly for about $100+ around $30 for shipping from Taiwan. SCS stands for spin control system if you didn't know...it's basically a very primative form of hopup and is not easily adjusted...but it can be.
Currently my 5K is down for the count due to a small problem with the loading breech not lining up right with the BB feed port on the mag....why I have no clue....nor does anyone else I've talked to really. I've been discussing this with several people on the ClassicAirsoft.net forums and so far there is no solution that seems to work. But I shall keep trying. I have 13 40rnd mags for my 5K and I can't wait to resurect it! :D
Also as a side note....MGC and JAC are the only companies to my knowledge that ever produced MP5's with burst functions.
Any other questions?

Thanks for the info! Very interesting, I sorta wish I would have gotten it then. There was one on E-Bay with a Buy It Now price of $280 or something, and thats why I was asking about it.
Thanks again.
Hey... Seceret got an idea..
You could go to a CNC place and maybe have them make you one.
Or if you could have some one put it in autocad, I have a place (My sisters fiancee's brother has a machine shop, and i asked him if i could make airsoft parts... as long as i can get the autocad stuff.)

Well Zip....I have to say you missed a GREAT deal! I wish I'd have seen that on eBay!! :)
If you ever get a chance like that again don't pass it up!
Foxtrot....have them make me a what? an entire new barrel/breech assembly? There's quite a few parts there...some moving...some not. Sadly I also have no means of getting it into autocad. Though since the current piece is not working right I don't know that making a duplicate would help....I mean if something's worn on this one and they copy it won't the copy malfunction the same? :) If I knew what the problem was I could of course tell them where to make adjustments and stuff to make it right...but the problem is that I DO NOT know what the problem is.
I just want this thing to live again!!!!
