Alright, so here it is, if I get the MK23 Full set, I would use it as a primary for night games, and maybe some low light games, { Oh, there all Out Door CQB/ SpeedBall }, so will the light be good for covert missions, not completly blowing my cover but lighting up 10 feet infront of me???
Thanks
Sean

ten feet tops. I own it, used it indoors and outdoors at night. it doesn't really put out much of a beam. a real taclight is there as both an increase in force display (confusing or disarming your opponents) and a visual aid. this lam does neither. Also the mount for the lam is not the standard mount, so getting a real taclight is a bit more difficult.
the real strength of this gun is- reliably accurate out pretty far, for 134a it shoots hard and fast, with the included suppressor, it is tactically silent, a rareity in airsoft, and in colder areas you can use a more powerful gas at your discretion.
weaknesses- no metal, very large framed gun- good luck getting a holster- you're really looking into the high end arena for one, those cheapo 11 dollar ones won't hold it firm, especially with the LAM; non blowback.
I swear by this gun, but the lam does not contain a laser, nor an infrared beam and the flashlight is pretty weak, it's only really good for giving yourself away or signaling (which could be both)

Alright, thanks alot, that helps ALOT, I think im still going to be getting it though, only for night use though, very small and fast games, so theres no need to use an AEG, although I will be taking one with me on a sling, just incase...and I'll have 3 extra mags too,
One last question, about how many mags can you get outa one fill of gas,
Thanks
Sean
P.S: I wont need a holster since it'll be a primary weapon for me, :p

hahaha since I don't have a holster yet in our gas games it is my primary and my m9 is my backup.
you can rely on at least 2 mags worth of gas between BB refills. you can get more but once you're on the field, reloading BBs and then gas is more of a pain, so count on the minimum so you're not out of one or the other while fighting. but in a target sense, i've gotten three a few times, most often 2.75 mags of BBs vs Gas. with 134a.

I've been thinking about getting the M1 carbine as a sort of precision rifle in a carbine package. Still waiting on secretagentman's review, and for my next move to be completed so more money comes in. But I've been looking at it and it may solve your problems. just a suggestion.

Dude, don't take offence to this, but thats old, very old...I saw that last year actully,
And thats about what? 70 dollars??? not worth it, im not paying that much money, I could get another GBB or something with it, or save it, IDK but all I know is im not waisting money on a 70 dollar holster...
I spent 64.50 on my BHI Thigh holster for my KSC Mk.23 Hard kick...
Some times in airsoft you just gotta spend the money.

Great review BTW. I just ordered a MK23 LAM thigh holster on ebay for $25. I will let you know if it is crap. I have a ppk w/integrated laser and I hope it fits both. Does anyone know if the silentcer is supposed to fit in the holster or do you have to screw it on every time you pull it out?
ALso, would a TM tracer screw on without an adapter?

Joeranger,
I haven't tried the tracer unit myself, I've heard too many problems with it to risk purchasing it myself- besides, it's a pistol :)
and yeah the suppressor is supposed to be screwed on everytime. be gentle with it- you don't want to strip it. It should last you for years.
be sure to review the holster when you get it- the sheer amoutn of times I answer questions about this awesome gun tells me a lot of people are getting it or have it, so that information would be widely useful.

Thanks CB. You need a tracer. You would never use it in a game, but seeing a stream of electric green bbs is awesome. I use it to entertain friends who have never seen airsoft. It is even funnier to get all padded up and try to dodge them at night from a "safe" distance.
I am really torn between the MK23 HW and I guess there is a "hard kick" as well. I would get the TM full set, but I want the tracer, and I really want the M97 LAM that Redwolf has. I may start a new thread on the M97 because I have not seen anyone review it. All input appreciated.
What thread pattern does the TM have for the silencer?

it IS reverse thread, but I'm not sure if it is 14mm or not, haven't had to measure it nor have I seen it in the literature.
it makes you lok so badass to screw it in- unless you're currently being pelted by a BB storm.

Both the KSC and TM use a correct dimension 16mm thread for the silencer. The silencer, basically, won't fit anything else.
Check out my comparison of the two guns at http://snowman40.8m.com
Cheers.

whoops-
I was showing my mk23 SOCOM to a buddy and realized the threads are in fact NOT reverse-the suppressor screws on righty-tighty- however when you hold the gun it feels a little awkwards, which is why I was thinking otherwise. sorry for the misinformation :(
