I have been researching for some time and reading posts, and I have come across a few different brands that make the same gun, namely kwc, uhc, and hfc, and also one by softair usa. also it says no slide lock, but shoots good otherwise on one, what does that mean? I am also still deciding between spring and gas. I know the obvious differences, but am just not sure which one would suite me better. what do you think would be the best option? thanks

The only gas P226 that you mentioned in your post is the KWC, which isn't that great. Not that surprising since it costs like $50. Look into Tanaka P226's, they look pretty nice.

I went to that website and then to airsoftdynamics, but it says tanaka has halted their production of blowbacks to concentrate on revolvers and other guns. I did however find it on two other sites so far, one for $170 and other for $120 for the same gun, which both is probably out of my dollar range. I don't need the best gun out htere, although they are pretty sweet and good looking, I might just go with the KWC model since it's not as expensive, and is officially licensed so it looks pretty good. I understand the tanaka model is the best, but a littly pricy for me. thanks

Speaking of which, Are the revolvers worth the money?
Are they any good for skirmishes or just collectors items?

jason, and drgnslr,

The information you have received is incorrect and/or out-dated. Tanaka only recently introduced their revamped traditional SigSauer replicas.
IMHO, currently, in so far as traditional Sig pistol replicas are concerned, the Tanakas are the only ones worth the money.
drgnslr --
The Tanaka PEGASUS-powered NBB revolvers are unsurpassed in terms of power, durability, reliability, and gas-efficiency in their genre. No other airsoft replica revolver comes close.
Combine that with their superior cosmetics (a notch above that of current Maruzens, which is quite pleasing already and nearly on-par with the old Kokusais), you see where this is going, right?

I see, it's just that i don't want to spend $120-170 on it, even though they are the best, as I won't be getting my money's worht then since I won't use it a lot. I think I'll jsut got iwth the kwc model.

jason,
If budget is a concern, get a springer.
You'll quickly be spending up to the price of the Tanaka just to fuel the GBB alone -- which would mean that your initial savings is essentially self-defeating.
Furthermore, due to the horrendous durability and reliability of the lesser replicas, you will likely find that they are not worth even their low price.
For GBBs, as with anything else, a "base" level of investment/spendings is required to net a workable item.
Would you spend $8000 on a Yugo?
You'd save up another $4000 to get a Honda, right?
Same idea here.
What you can afford "right now" may turn out to be an absolute waste in the longer run. Save up a bit more now, and you won't be sorry.
