ohio map

I was looking for a team and relised that have the towns Ive never heard off so why not have a map of ohio with all the citys on it. and maybe a dot you could click wich would represnt a team.so what do you guys think?

Hmmmmm, I like the idea. Maybe have it at the top of the page in the teams section. It would take a little work, and some bandwidth, but I like it. I second this, but maybe if need be to save bandwidth, scratch the interactive part, and just put a map of the ohio and surrounding states area, like a standard pic of a travelers map, and sticky it in the general discussion area or something. I mean I know you could go to mapquest and find the stuff, but it may be handy to just have it on the site.

Ok steal my interactiveness( *polishs gun*) but I just thought you could research it but then some people have super junky comps so it would save people alot of time.note I got this idea since i couldnt find knowone in the teams area in akron. boo hoo.

Theres a forum I have been a part of for a gaming community that did this sort of thing. Basically what they did was use some sort of mapping program (I could ask them what) and put in everyones city/state/zip code and you could put in as many entries as you wanted. So theres a big map of the USA/Canada with numbers dotted all over the place and a key that denotes who each number represents. Seems to me like you could do the same sort of thing for teams.

Yea, as stated above you nayo, airsoft retreat has one of it's members, it is like that, but there are a CRAP LOAD of pins. It could be pretty cool, maybe even do like they did and put pins for players, maybe you live closer to some players then originally thought, and you could make new friends, or play some time, or even open up carpooling situations.

Frappr sounds like exactly what you're wanting. I'm part of two Frappr groups, and it works pretty well. Not only do you have a pin showing your location, but the pins can be color-coded and when you click on a pin a pop-up gives their picture (if they upload one) and any description they entered.

I'll look into setting one up today.

It's a very good idea. Whenever i tell someone where our team is it's allways followed with "wheres that?" Your map idea would take alot of that away.

I think that is a great map. So is there any place that it could/should be linked in, or can it be embedded anywhere?

I'd like to see it as an item on the main Airsoft Ohio menu (look to your right), but I'd want to test it some more before giving it that kind of publicity. Play around with it and see if it breaks.

awsome I love it, now we just gotta get as many people as we can to use it, it could help alot in getting more players to games.

any way we could involve a frequency of airsoft, like how often, maybe a person only plays a little or theyve become idle and have stopped playing, or maybe someone is a fiend and you could always be able to contact them for airsoft... just a thought

I won't add markers for transient information (frequency of play, events, etc.), because it's not only information overload, but it's a maintenance nightmare. If you want people to know how often you play, include it in your marker text.
