Unfortunately no, it is not the infamous Oozinator. Though that would be quite teh funny. Though gone would be the reciprocating action of the Oozinator anyway. IF this image actually contains evidence of an actual cannon, it would likely be something a bit more traditional, and easier to operate. But intelligence isn't sure what it is exactly, or how it will be utilized.

This has gotta be a battlemech that picture shows the c*ckpit

Now I am actually convinced it is an amphibious assualt vehicle with a main turret mounted on the back and is piloted by a 3 man crew and can carry up to 6 passengers. There is the possiblity that it has to smaller turrets that automatically lock on and fire at enemy targets.

While we're hoping to to integrate it into scenarios at upcoming events, you won't see it until it's finished. It will definitely be a new field feature that can be used by teams to further their field advantage. It will definitely add a new element to gameplay.

I believe Darkstar will be planning on hosting games soon. The issue to this point has been the need to run the AirsoftArms stores. They are hiring a few other people though, so I suspect that coming up Darkstar will have more time on the weekends to host games. I know he works all week and Saturdays right now at the store.

Unfortunately having to work 6 days a week while dealing with a kidney stone takes it's toll, and sometimes doesn't lend itself well to planning events.

I had originally been postponing due to bad weather and loads of rain, and had hoped to get a lot more people out to the Red Dragon field cleanup day, but I'd like to thank the two people who did show up. They know who they are. Unfortunately we weren't able to get nearly as much done as we had wanted.

I'm also looking for some people who are willing to help build a few field upgrades as well. Bunkers for forts mainly. If you're interested, let me know. Good woodworking skills would be a benefit.

I have some questions about this event, and events in general. I got into airsoft about 2-3 years ago and I now have a slightly upgraded Aeg, a Gas gun, and some military woodland camo. Nothing else. I like to think I could hold my own against truly experienced players, but that's probably not true...:( . Any way, would a lowly newbie and possibly some of his friends be welcome at such and event? any pictures I'm providing are purely for speculative value, and to see if anyone can actually guess what it is and let me know via PM. Currently, the project is about 10% completed. Thinking inside or outside the box at this time is pretty much speculation. And we will not reveal the results of our labors until the project is completely finished and up to par with how we wish integrate our results into future scenarios.

Remember, I'm doing my best to mess this pictures up enough so that you're not really sure what youre looking at. We may flip images, tilt, zoom, or use any number of other techniques to trick the eye. So far it seems to be working well. I hope to have more soon!

LoL, no, that's not what the project is, but I thought it would be hilarious to post that since everyone seems to think it's a tank!

Those are called PUG tanks are are actually part of a series of "walking" tanks used in paintball games. I actually did see a relatively cool walking tank one time, which was almost full size and took about 3 people to effectively walk the thing accross the field. We're not working on one of those either, just in case you were worried.

But, no, we're not making Pug tanks.

I have one question how do you disable destroy the vehicle. Is it
A. Hang balloons on it and when they are shot out it is destroyed.
B. You use Wallace's AT4 to take it out.
C. Not Determined
D. Not mentioned

Personally I think it would be neat to have Wallace's AT4 be able to take out the vehicle that would just be uber 1337n3ss. Anyway just a thought

The tank will be disabled by using any pre-approved shoulder fired air cannon or other specified weapon. Satchel charges and other methods can also be employed to disable it in-game. There are currently no plans to employ balloons for use with the tanks.

The tank in the movie can shoot raquetballs and can also be equipped with a watercannon. Maybe this can be employed as a flamethrower?

I would assume that you are using pneumatics to power the "cannon".

If this is the case, why don't you fill it with bb's, nerf rockets, whatever?

You cant fill it with BB's because there isn't enough pressure to expel a cloud of BB's. They would just pour out the end of the barrel. You could create a sabot, but it would have to be muzzle loaded due to the way the gun is designed. Also, the same goes with nurf rockets. They are either too large, or too small for the barrel of the cannon (I don't remember which), and the breach loading cannon would make it difficult.

The cannon is essentially a tube connected to a hose running from an air compressor. There is a solenoid which controls the value releasing air pressure down the barrel. Approximately 20lbs of pressure is expelled during each firing. I have not experimented with the solenoid to see if I can get more pressure out of it yet. That is a winter project.
